Simply put, I love coaching. My path to opening Wreck Room is filled with people who gave their time and effort to teach me about the CrossFit community and lifestyle. My goal and vision for Wreck Room is to do the same, inspire others and give everything I have to strengthen the CrossFit community in Glen Burnie. I have spent the last eighteen months sharing my knowledge of CrossFit with friends; albeit for a few hours a night, because I know they are putting everything they have into each workout they do.

The biggest reward for me in fostering this community is seeing our members overcome mental and physical hurdles and become stronger every day. The joy I get from watching someone get their first unassisted pull-up, add ten pounds to a lift, or Rx a workout for the first time makes my investment and hard work worth it.

Wreck Room CrossFit it is ALL about the members. My goal with this gym is to provide a community of like-minded people who push and support each other inside and outside of the gym.

 

Chelsea Rohleder

COACH

Born and raised in Maryland, Chelsea attended Towson University where she received her Bachelors in Athletic Training. Currently Chelsea works with high school level athletes. It is very fortunate to be able to work in a field where you love what you do. The best part of her being an athletic trainer, is that she can be a part of an athletes success in doing what they love. Chelsea has always been active and involved in sports. While doing her general gym routine, Chelsea stumbled upon CrossFit by meeting a group of people who did CrossFit exercises together as a group.This was the perfect opportunity to try something new and she began to develop a passion for it. It is more than just working out, it’s about giving your all in each work out and gaining not only strength, agility, endurance, and flexibility but bonds with the people around you. Everyone has a goal and everyone supports one another in achieving that goal here at Wreck Room CrossFit.

 

Colin Dupreay

COACH

I love to teach people and I love to workout! I enjoy teaching people new things, things they had no knowledge of before and helping them to increase their knowledge on a subject we already know. CrossFit offers me the opportunity to do both, to teach people how to use something they already know, their bodies, in a way they didn’t think they could. One of the best things about teaching is seeing other put into practice what they have learned; teaching a person something new and then witnessing them practice that skill is such an awesome experience. As a CrossFit instructor I vow to do my best to help every member better themselves, both physically and mentally, by teaching them functional and lifelong fitness, and encouraging and helping them to be a better person than they were yesterday.

Courtney Smith

Coach

Coaching has been a part of my life since high school. I have always been active and involved in sports, but cheerleading was my go-to. In high school, I cheered and played softball, but also coached cheerleading at a local youth program. I then moved on to become a high school cheerleading coach after graduating college. As a full-time Realtor, I loved that I was able to devote some time into coaching something that I was so passionate about and that desire soon transferred to Crossfit as well. I started Crossfit in July 2014 and was hooked after my first week. After being on the receiving end of so much dedication and help from the other coaches, I realized I wanted to bring my energy and passion to the other athletes as well. I love everything about watching an athlete grow physically and mentally.  Crossfit, just like any other sport, is mind over matter. As a Crossfit coach, I wanted to be able to encourage every athlete mentally to do things they didn’t think they could ever do, while they used their bodies in some of the most functional ways to achieve their fitness goals. Our bodies are capable of way more than we give them credit for, and that’s what I love about Crossfit. Every day is a new test and challenge, but when you come together in this Wreck Room community, you have all the support you need to put in the hard work and achieve your goals.

 

Alyson Becka

Coach

My name is Alyson, I am originally from South Carolina, but have spent my adult life living all over the country, with my husband and 4 kids, as a military spouse.

I became a member at Wreck Room in 2015, and I’m so glad that I did.  I love the community that Wreck Room fosters, and CrossFit, truly, can be for everyone.  After a year, I decided that I wanted to be able to share CrossFit and weightlifting with others.  I currently hold a Sports Performance Coach certification from USA Weightlifting, and a CrossFit Level 1 certification.

I enjoy being able to help people reach their goals.  There are few things better than seeing the joy and excitement on a person’s face when double unders “click” or they press 100 lbs overhead for the first time.

Fred Dayton

Fred Dayton’s approach to life is simple, put in hard work and results will come. It was love at first sight, Fred developed a bond with Crossfit that many compare to a cult 🙂 His methodology to coaching at Wreck Room focuses on improving fitness, educating, and helping everyone achieve their desired goals. The constant variation of countless functional movements coupled with the competition factor is what keeps Fred at the gym almost daily. Coaching at Wreck Room has been an extremely rewarding experience, working to help everyone improve their fitness and live a healthier life is very encouraging. From a slight improvement to a highly technical movement to an athlete hitting a PR they’ve been working toward for months will keep Fred’s passionate dedication to Coaching Crossfit at Wreck Room for a long time.
